AMANDA arthur
Dreamer, believer in God and the magic of life, encourager, optimist, extrovert, fast talker, newly married, and dog mom.
Likes: Live music, tacos, movies, sunflowers, watermelon, pickles, football, hockey, love stories, cooking/baking, roller coasters, Christmas lights, fireworks, and kids.
Dislikes: Nashville traffic, negativity, scary movies, white condiments (ranch, mayo, and sour cream), and unsweet tea.
Amanda Arthur is originally from Cherryville, North Carolina. Amanda attended Marshall University and graduated with a bachelors and masters degree in Social Work. Amanda struggled with where she belonged in her career, so she took a year off between degrees and moved home to NC where she worked for the children’s advocacy center fighting for justice for children who had been abused. In graduate school, Amanda worked for a children’s shelter where she spent her days caring for children who were in the state’s custody and had no where else to go. In college, Amanda had the idea to start a non-profit, but she was unsure of what that would look like. However, working at the children’s shelter made Amanda realize that her true passion was to help children dream and to realize their full potential. Once again, Amanda was unsure of how to do that, but she did feel called to Nashville. One year after moving to Nashville, her small group suggested to look into Rachel Hollis’ podcast. Amanda took that suggestion and chose a random episode. A divine connection was made when Amanda chose the podcast Susan was speaking on. Susan shared her heart and mission and what National Angels was doing. That was it! Amanda knew this was an opportunity laid out by God himself. Amanda fell in love with this organization because it gives children the opportunity to be kids again. Amanda believes that every child should have the opportunity to dream and to chase those dreams. She can’t wait to spark change with her team in Nashville, and she is looking forward to reaching every single child involved in the foster care system.
