Nashville transplant. Diversity Ally. Dog mom. Extroverted introvert.
Likes: Big cities, board games, happy hours, hiking, kindness, live sporting events, long weekends, peloton cycling, podcasts, rooftops, sunsets at the beach, traveling, and volunteering.
Dislikes: Awkward silences, COVID-19, crowds, paying for parking, pink tax, and showing up to places when they’ve just closed.
Kara Tumbleston is originally from Plant City, Florida, home of the winter strawberry capital of the world and world famous Strawberry Festival. After graduating with her degree in Finance from the University of Florida, she worked in various corporate finance and accounting roles and decided to further her education by earning her MBA from the University of Florida, making her a double Gator. Career advancement opportunities encouraged her to make moves that would eventually bring her to Nashville, TN in the summer of 2019, where she still obsesses over even the tiniest amount of snowfall.
Outside of work, Kara has a passion for volunteerism and thus has been a member of the Junior League since 2015, and recently completed the Young Leaders Council program in the spring of 2021. Some of her fondest memories are from being on the Kids Connect committee with the Junior League of Tampa, which consisted of coordinating Match Events throughout the year, and participating in fun celebrations for National Adoption Day. It was from this point on that she knew she wanted to continue to partner with organizations that advocate for children and youth in foster care communities, which led her to joining Nashville Angels as a board intern. Kara is excited for all the wonderful things Nashville Angels is already doing with the ‘Love Box’ program, and is excited to see additional programs roll out soon!
